Mr. Jumu Wally
Mr. Jumu Wally is an accomplished Gambian economist and public administrator with over two decades of experience spanning academia, government service, and the financial sector. He is currently serving as the Deputy Executive Secretary of The Gambia State-Owned Enterprises Commission, playing a
pivotal role in performance reporting, strategic planning, and oversight of state enterprises. His previous tenure at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs saw him rise through the ranks to Principal Economist, immensely contributing to macroeconomic policy analysis, aid coordination, programme and project monitoring, and fiscal planning.
Mr. Wally holds Master of Science (MSc) degrees in Financial Management and Master of Art (MA) degree in Economic Policy Management and is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Administration. A passionate educator, with a Higher Teacher Certificate (HTC) in Mathematics and Science and primary teachers’ certificate from The Gambia College. He as has been a full-time lecturer at the University of The Gambia and now a part time lecturer. He also lectures in economics, finance, and management at the Institute of Bankers and Management Development Institute.
He is known for his professionalism, integrity, strong analytical acumen, and pedagogical expertise. He is a dedicated public servant committed to institutional development and knowledge dissemination.
