In a significant step towards enhancing accountability and transparency in governance, the Directorate of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) recently orchestrated a pivotal event— the signing of Performance Contracts with four State-Owned Enterprises. The signing ceremony, held on the 12th of December 2023, was presided over by the Director of SOEs, Bai Madi Ceesay.
The Performance Contracts were inked with the following State-Owned Enterprises:
- Gambia International Airlines
- Gambia Printing and Publishing Corporation
- Gambia Groundnut Corporation
- Gambia Postal Service Corporation
This momentous occasion was marked by the presence of Mr. Ousainou Ngum, Chairman of the SOEs’ Commission, who signed the contracts on behalf of His Excellency, the President of the Republic, Adama Barrow.
These Performance Contracts signify a commitment to fostering excellence, efficiency, and accountability within the State-Owned Enterprises. By delineating specific performance targets and expectations, the contracts serve as a robust mechanism to ensure that these entities align with the broader goals and objectives set by the government.
